Bbbbrrrr
It got frozen off somewhere in northwestern Colorado. Took a little trip over there these past 2 weeks. Actually, it took 3 days to get there, then we spent 5 days tromping around in the ice and snow (had a few sub-zero degree nights up there at ~10,000 foot elevation), then another 2 days to drive back. The point of the trip? you ask. I guess you could say we went shopping for a few food items not available in the local grocery lol. Okay, to put it bluntly, we went deer and elk hunting. I had a blast! Bagged a nice 4x4 buck, and the group came back with all the tags filled--6 deer, 5 cow elk and 1 bull elk. Plenty of meat to last quite a while. Of course, now I need to find a freezer at a reasonable price before the butcher has everything ready lol. Good news is, I did pretty good at the tables during our transit through Nevada, and the winnings will pay for most of a freezer.
Wish I could go hunting more often, but the pickings in Cali are pretty slim. Deer are small, hunting areas are over crowded with hunters, and the animals are almost always infested with ticks and fleas. Depending on my employment situation, and how much vacation time I get, etc. I'll probably try to head out to Colorado again next year. In the mean time, I'll just hope the meat lasts the full year
